Milo Ventimiglia might be the manliest guy on TV next to The Rock, which is a serious achievement. These days—perhaps in a bid for dudely preeminence—Ventimiglia is dressing better than ever, and growing out his hair. With every appearance to promote his show, This is Us, Ventimiglia's shown up with jet black, shiny, full hair with a slight natural wave. And he appeared to be keeping up with cuts too, which is the pro move people often pass on during the grow-out process.
So, yeah, it was all going really well: Milo V was growing out his hair, and looking great. Until last night, that is, when Ventimiglia pulled it all back into a ponytail. One part professional soccer player, one part weird dad, the look was a useful reminder that being able to grow cool and long hair is not the same as always looking great with cool and long hair. With great hair-growing power comes great responsibility.
We’ll forgive Milo Ventimiglia this transgression in the name of summer, freedom of expression, and general allegiance to style god David Beckham (who is rocking a micro ponytail himself right now). But while we'd suggest he leave the footballer ponytail to the professionals, we’re holding out hope that this is not the end of the actor’s long-and-proud period. The dude looks too damn good to let one ponytail end this experiment abruptly.
