Today, on the first day of spring, Kanye West has been reborn...as a guy with pink hair. The rapper (and all-around fashion icon) stepped out in his preferred runway-show location of Calabasas with Kim Kardashian on Tuesday. Both rocked looks (and they were definitely "looks") that used pastel jackets and warm-weather shoes to bring basic black elements into the new season. But while Kardashian's sunny Yeezy Season 7 outfit certainly demanded attention, West's new pink and blonde dye job gave his checked shirt and white Yeezys (another forthcoming release) a certain optimistic glow. This isn't the first time West has dyed his hair Easter egg colors, but this particular version is a little more grown out and carefree than previous iterations.

West has also grown his beard out a bit too, which adds a low-key lumberjack vibe to the teen-loved hairstyle. West and Kardashian just returned from a trip to Jackson Hole; calling this Calabasas by way of Wyoming wouldn't be entirely off base.

Whether this hair signals the beginning of a new chapter in West's style or is more of a limited-edition flex is unclear. Whatever the length of time, we're here for a wild-haired Ye. As soon as the weather truly warms up, we should all try to remember to be so free. If not with ombre pink dye jobs, at least with some length, texture, and general grooming messiness.
