The Revenant looks intense. Leonardo DiCaprio gets attacked by a bear. Tom Hardy kills DiCaprio's son. Leo gets buried alive. Leo seeks revenge. So. Much. Snow. The northern American wilderness in 1823 clearly wasn't a place for weak guys—or facial hair that couldn't hold up. Which is why we're starting to thing that while DiCaprio and Hardy might be the marquee names in this flick, the real stars are their beards. If you want proof, have a look at two just-released posters for the Alejandro G. Iñárritu-directed film where each actor sports a bushy set of snow-caked follicles that takes up more real estate than the movie's own name. (Side note: have Tom Hardy and Brett Keisel ever been in the same place at the same time?) The effect inspires a bit of shock and awe that two of earth's most handsome mugs might have suffered for their art but mostly, we want to know if getting to this level of hirsuteness was method acting or just DGAF'ing for a few weeks?
