If you still, somehow, haven't watched Stranger Things yet, beware of spoilers ahead.

On season one of Stranger Things, Steve Harrington is a popular high school jock on that all important asshole-to-nice-guy arc armed with the most essential accessory for any '80s-era antagonist: a head of great hair. We're not talking slicked-back greaser-style hair or the long ombré-d locks of a burnout; No, Steve's hair is a chestnut-hued, golden-highlighted follicle soufflé that stands high at the crown of his head and then dramatically swoops towards the back like a crashing wave on a downy soft hair beach. It's like a shiny pony, if that pony was bent into a hair helmet and attached—Vader style—to the head of a dick-ish teenager. Even when Steve was rocking a gnarly black eye, we were mostly looking at his hair. When he was wailing on that tulip-headed demon with a baseball bat flail, his hair was still glorious.

So it shouldn't be surprising to find out that the owner of all that impressive hair, actor Joe Keery, also has a standout scalp in the real world. At a pre-Emmy's event yesterday (dressed, we might add, in a very sharp navy suit and skinny diagonal striped tie), Keery brought his grooming A-game. His mid-length hair telegraphed that whole "effortless cool guy" vibe by steering clear of mullet territory, keeping the all-over length equal. For guys trying to grow their hair out to shoulder length, this is a smart way to make it look great. Instead of looking messy, Keery's hair is red carpet ready. (We're also hoping it's a sneak peek at Season 2 Steve, who, we're just assuming, will be awesome.)
