There's a reason why the high-n-tight is the most popular haircut in America. With it's textured, mid-length texture at the top that tapers down to a buzzed fade on the sides, it's a 'do that looks good on a variety of faces, is easy to maintain, and will help keep you cool when the weather heats up. No big surprise that Zachary Quinto, one of the more stylish guys around, nails it just as we hit the high summer season. Of course, he takes it to the next level with a light 'stache, proving that you can add a little bit of facial hair to up the ante, and still look beach-ready.
Liam Payne's Full-Volume BlowoutFormer One Direction-er Liam Payne nailed his navy-on-black outfit for his turn front row at the Giorgio Armani show in Milan, but it was his hair that really stole the show. Listen, we weren't in the room when he was getting ready, but a style like that almost certainly requires the use of one of the more under-appreciated tools in the men's grooming biz, the beloved and feared hair dryer. How do you take the Surf Brah Undercut from limp to enviable? After a shower, blot your hair dry and then run a bit of wax through your fingers, then your mane, and blow dry it up while combing it back. Bam, you've got a head of hair that—figuratively and literally!—stands above the rest.
Jimmy Fallon's 70s 'StacheAs we informed you earlier this week, funnyman and late night show host Jimmy Fallon ditched has officially ditched his beard but left a little upper lip adornment behind, thereby inaugurating what he is calling the #SummerOfStache. Take this as your excuse to finally grow that mustache you've been aching to, and blame it on Fallon.
The Way to Stay Cool With a Summer BeardWe're all for a summer beard, but a full head of hair plus thick, unruly overgrowth at the chin can be oppressive once the weather reaches that stifling status. Designer and multi-hyphenate Virgil Abloh has the answer: take a Bic to your head and let that beard go wild and free. As he demonstrated at a really cool party thrown by none other than yours truly, Abloh masterfully demonstrated the way to look and stay cool with a summer beard, while also proving our theory about the ideal beard-to-hair ratio.
Jordan Barrett's Surfer 'DoAustralian model Jordan Barrett—who was named 2016's Model of the Year by Models.com—may have genetics on his side, but he also has the perfectly tousled surfer hairdo in his tonsorial arsenal to help cement his status as top male model. His DGAF sunbleached locks are certainly a laid-back Aussie-inspired take on the Bro Flow. So good, in fact, that the groomers kept the look in tact for his walk down the runway at the Dolce & Gabbana show.
Embrace The Go-With-the-Flow FroSure, the general rule for summer is all about super-tight, super-trim hair, but rules are meant to be broken after all. Here Jarrett Ellis proves that when it comes to warm-weather hair, go big or go home is as good a mantra as any.
