Today in global grooming news, _The Guardian _reports that Iran has officially banned spiky hair. Emo kids and Guy Fieri impersonators alike will find themselves in trouble if they’re spotted getting a gravity-defying trim. Why such a ban you ask? Apparently the hairstyle implies satanic worship. Mostafa Govahi, head of the Barbers Union in Iran has reportedly issued a stern warning to those who would attempt the style: "Any shop that cuts hair in the devil worshipping style will be harshly dealt with and their license revoked." In addition to being a mark of the devil, the hairstyles are entirely too western as far as he’s concerned. Gohavi continued to explain his motivations, "I won’t allow such wrongful western styles as long as I’m in this position." Back in 2010, a similar ban was imposed upon mullets, long hair, or gelled hair for men. The latest sanctions also forbid tanning beds and eyebrow plucking. Looks like we’ll have to cancel our vacation now.
