Bad haircuts can take weeks or even months to correct. For Zayn Malik, it's a matter of days. Malik's hair is relatively short, which helps, but the dude also knows how to use hair dye, facial hair, and strategic trims to drastically change his appearance without having to wait for his hair to grow out. He's a grooming chameleon in the spirit of grooming gods like David Beckham and Jared Leto. Last week Malik looked like Christopher Lloyd in Who Framed Roger Rabbit or Kiefer Sutherland in The Lost Boys; a creepy villain with a white-blonde beard and now, just seven days later, he's onto an entirely new persona. He shaved off that beard and let a whole new round of stubble grow in. He also dyed his fade a grungy shade of green and trimmed up the sides, getting rid of any remnants of blonde around his ears. And just like that: new man. Or new-looking man, at least.
While we weren't feeling Malik's blonde situation last week, we really dig today's look. It's rebellious but not unflattering, the color is perfectly executed and the lack of beard antics allows his neck tattoos and badass leather jacket to get the attention they deserve. There's little chance Malik will still look like this in a month or two, but that's OK. His job as a pop star and one man grooming inspiration machine is to always be moving. It reminds us not to change so slowly ourselves. The next time you get a meh haircut, follow Zayn Malik's lead and make something new out of the situation.
