We doubt the “mom, I’m a yogi now” look will hang around for long, but it deserves a moment of pause. If only because, for once, Zayn Malik looks like a regular guy trying to figure out how selfies work, not a Millennial Teen sent to us from outer space Simon Cowell’s laboratory. Gone is the green/pink/gray hair color, the inventive fading, the perfectly groomed scruff. He isn’t even doing that Tom Ford Wildman thing. This look is just “guy who went for a run”.

If you’re still spending a full ten minutes combing your hair into submission and getting your beard length just so, consider taking advantage of the fact that it’s July a.k.a. Let it All Hang Out month, and that messy and long is having a men’s grooming moment right now. You could cop Zayn’s look, you could give yourself a faux hawk, you could let your hair go curly, or do the '70s folk artist thing. Seriously, whatever you want. We will say this: Consider applying the F---s you are giving up when it comes to your hair to your wardrobe instead. Messy looks better on a guy in a good outfit. (We can of course count on Zayn to know this.)
